The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) has announced the Neighborhood Market Grant Program, a targeted initiative designed to foster local enterprise, strengthen food security, and revitalize commercial corridors across Chicago's neighborhoods.

Small grocers, independent food retailers, and local market operators can apply for grant funding up to $10,000 to help modernize facilities, expand fresh produce selections, and build sustainable business models. The program is administered in partnership with Allies for Community Business (A4CB).

Key Program Details & Deadlines

• Grant Amount: Up to $10,000 in direct grant funding.
• Eligible Uses: Allowable capital improvements, modern refrigeration equipment, POS technology, interior buildouts, and inventory expansion.
• Application Deadline: Friday, September 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM CST.
