Cross-sector partnership was on full display at Douglas Park during the Back to School Community Collaboration & Bookbag Giveaway.
Ruffly Redefining, 24th Ward Alderwoman Monique Scott, Lawndale Business Renaissance Association (LBRA), & the City of Chicago united to distribute 380 fully stocked bookbags to local students.
The initiative delivered a total of 380 fully loaded bookbags alongside essential academic supplies and wellness items:
- Basic Supplies: Loose-leaf filler paper, composition books, spiral notebooks, folders, bookmarks, and rulers.
- Classroom & Art Essentials: Pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, erasers, glue sticks, and safety scissors.
- Sanitation & Hygiene Items: Clorox wipes, personal hand sanitizers, and tissues.
The event united local government, business networks, and grassroots advocates to support neighborhood families and equip students for academic success.
